US Tax Form Renewal for AdSense Publishers with W-8 Forms from 2021

If you’re an AdSense publisher who submitted a W-8 tax form back in 2021, it may be time to refresh your tax information. Every few years, Google asks publishers to update these forms to ensure all tax details are up-to-date. Updating your tax information is essential—it helps Google apply the correct tax withholding rate to your earnings (where needed) and keeps your payments on schedule.

Important: W-8 tax forms submitted in 2021 are set to expire on December 31, 2024. Note that W-9 forms do not have an expiration.

How to Check

To check if you need to take action, follow these steps to review your current tax form:

1. Log in to your AdSense account.
2. Go to Payments and then select Payments info.
3. Choose Manage settings.
4. Scroll down to the Payments profile section, and select the option to edit next to United States tax info.
5. Click on Manage tax info and review the United States tax card.

You’ll find PDF versions of your submitted tax forms and current withholding rates under the Tax forms and withholding (WHT) rates section.
